PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of determining a state of sterilization of an irradiation subject in a short time during transfer of the subject when the irradiation object transferred at a high-speed such as a food container and a packaging material is subjected to a sterilizing process with electron beams from an electron beam irradiation means.
SOLUTION: An irradiation process bath 10 is provided with the electron beam irradiation means 40, and containers 1 to be exposed to electron beams, which are held by a plurality of holding mechanisms disposed on a rotary transfer unit 11 serving as a transfer means and are rotated through a rotating mechanism are transferred sequentially in the irradiation process bath 10. The container 1 is subjected to the sterilizing process during transfer by irradiation with electron beams from the electron beam irradiation means 40. A photographing means 51 that at least observes a state of transfer of the container 1 is arranged opposite to an observation window 50 disposed on a side face of the irradiation process bath 10. The irradiation process bath 10 also has an observing means 53 that observes a state of irradiation with electron beams, and a determining means 54 that determines a state of sterilization of the container 1 using output from the photographing means 51 and from the observing means 53 observing a state of irradiation.
