PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repeat start and cancel release of an intermittent operation mode.SOLUTION: An air conditioner includes: a fan disposed in a casing having an inlet and an outlet； detecting means for detecting air pollution； and control means controlling the fan, and has an intermittent operation mode for intermittently operating the fan when a degree of air pollution detected by the detecting means is low. When a fan operation starting condition is satisfied in stopping the fan in the intermittent operation mode, the operation of the fan is started. When the start of the operation of the fan based on the satisfaction of the fan operation starting condition before the lapse of a prescribed time from the stop of the fan, is repeated by a prescribed number of times when the fan is stopped in the intermittent operation mode, plunging to the intermittent operation mode is restricted thereafter.【課題】間欠運転モードの開始と解除とが繰り返される。【解決手段】本発明の空気調和機は、吸込口と吹出口を有するケーシング内に配置されたファンと、空気汚れを検知する検知手段と、ファンを制御する制御手段とを備え、検知手段で検知された空気汚れ度が小さい場合にファンを間欠的に運転する間欠運転モードを有している。間欠運転モードにおいてファンが停止しているときにファン運転開始条件を満たした場合にファンの運転が開始される。そして、間欠運転モードにおいてファンが停止しているときに、ファン停止時から所定時間が経過する前にファン運転開始条件を満たしてファンの運転が開始されることが、所定回数だけ繰り返された場合は、その後、間欠運転モードへの突入を制限する。【選択図】図８
