A drive mechanism for use in a drug delivery device comprising: a housing (3, 7) having a proximal and a distal end； a drive sleeve (14) that cannot rotate with respect to said housing (3, 7), in which the drive sleeve (14) comprises a helical thread (17)； a piston rod (10, 31) comprising a distal helical thread portion (9) threadedly engaged with said housing (3, 7)； characterized in that a) the piston rod (10, 31) comprises one or more flexible arms (13) located at the proximal end of said piston rod (10, 31) for releasable engagement with the helical thread (17) in said drive sleeve (14)； wherein the drive mechanism is configured such that when said drive sleeve (14) is moved in a proximal direction away from a distal end of said housing (3, 7), the one or more flexible arms (13) is they disengage from the helical thread (17) and said piston rod (10, 31) does not move with respect to said housing (3, 7)； and b) in which at the end of the proximal movement of the drive sleeve (14) the one or more flexible arms (13) engage with the helical thread (17) so that when said drive sleeve (14) moves in a distal direction towards a distal end of said housing (3, 7) said piston rod (10, 31) rotates with respect to said housing (3, 7) due to its engagement with the housing (3, 7) and the actuation (14) so that a force is transferred in the longitudinal direction to the distal end of said drug delivery device (1).Un mecanismo de accionamiento para su uso en un dispositivo de administración de fármacos que comprende: un alojamiento (3, 7) que tiene un extremo proximal y uno distal； un manguito de accionamiento (14) que no puede rotar con respecto a dicho alojamiento (3, 7), en el que el manguito de accionamiento (14) comprende una rosca helicoidal (17)； un vástago de pistón (10, 31) que comprende una parte de rosca helicoidal distal (9) enganchada de manera roscada con dicho alojamiento (3, 7)； caracterizado por que a) el vástago de pistón (10, 31) comprende uno o varios brazo
