PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for adsorbents which is directly usable for body fluid perfusion and can remove a malignant substance having a molecular weight of <200,000 Da from body fluid including blood and plasma in high efficiency and in high selectivity and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The method for producing porous particles includes a stock solution preparation step of preparing a stock solution which comprises an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, a polyvinylpyrrolidone and a good solvent for them and in which the content of the polyvinylpyrrolidone is ≥45 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and a forming step of discharging the stock solution from a nozzle, passing the discharged substance through a free-running part and coagulating the substance into particles in a poor solvent. The temperature of the poor solvent is (Tg-2)°C or below when the glass transition temperature of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is Tg, the porous particles comprise the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and the polyvinylpyrrolidone and the exclusion limit molecular weight is ≥200,000 Da and ≤600,000 Da.
