A system for performing tissue ablation using an Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy (ENB) instrument. The system is insertable through a bronchoscope, and comprises a coaxial cable 202 with a radiating tip portion 204. The coaxial cable comprises inner 206 and outer 208 conductors separated by a dielectric insulator 210 and is connected to a generator. The tip portion 204 comprises a first conductive element 212 electrically connected to the coaxial cables inner conductor 206 and a second conductive element 208 electrically isolated from the inner conductor. The conductive elements are arranged to act as active and return electrodes for delivering the RF energy into tissue surrounding the radiating tip portion, and an antenna for radiating the microwave energy as a localized microwave field. The system may be arranged to deliver energy according to a profile comprising interleaving periods of RF and microwave energy.
