PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the segmentation accuracy.SOLUTION: For each of a plurality of candidate atlases, the candidate atlases are aligned with a plurality of training image data sets. A similarity value is calculated based on the aligned training image data set and candidate atlas. The training image data set is segmented using the candidate atlas. A Jaccard coefficient value is calculated between the segmented training image data set and the candidate atlas. A regression parameter is generated based on the calculated similarity value and the calculated Jaccard coefficient value.
