PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter capable of holding a cavity inside a balloon so as to secure a blood stream even in the expansion of the balloon and also performing crimping with uniform expansion force even with respect to a vascular lumen.SOLUTION: A balloon catheter 1 includes: an outer tube 2 having open front and rear ends and a predetermined length； an inner shaft 3 stored inside the outer tube so as to be slidable in a longitudinal direction by projecting a distal end part from the front end opening of the outer tube； a skeleton structure 5 arranged between the distal end of the inner shaft and the distal end of the outer tube； and a balloon 6 attached to the outer surface of the skeleton structure. During an actuation, the inner shaft is slid toward a rear end side with respect to the outer tube so as to allow aggregates to stand by separation outward from the inner shaft. Then, a gap is obtained between the inner shaft and the balloon, so as to secure a blood stream in a front and rear direction inside the aggregates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
