packaging for surgical blade tips. it is a packaging for a surgical blade tip provided in this document. the packaging cooperates with the surgical blade tip to retain it properly and facilitate assembly on a surgical blade handle. in one aspect, the invention includes a package having a body with a side wall and at least two detectors extending outwardly from the side wall. in addition, a surgical blade tip is provided that has an adapter with a blade extending from it. the adapter includes at least two recesses formed therein. the surgical blade tip is arranged in the packaging with the holders being at least partially inserted into the recesses. in addition, the holders are configured to apply a retaining force to the adapter to retain the adapter in a first position and configured to deflect with a predetermined amount of torque being applied to the surgical blade tip in order to allow the adapter to rotate from the first position to a second position where the holders are not inserted in the recesses.
