PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top-open toilet for a cat that can reliably prevent granular bedding material from scattering out of the toilet with a simple structure and without increase in size.SOLUTION: A top-open toilet 11 for a cat with a body tray 31 that has a bottom plate 32 and a peripheral wall 33 surrounding the outer periphery of the bottom plate 32. The toilet includes a nearly cylindrical cover member 51 that is attachable and detachable and overlies the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall 33. On the cover member 51, there are formed a frame-shaped edge part 52 that is formed in the whole circumference of the lower end to stick out inward and situated above the bottom plate 32, and an extended wall part 53 that is formed above the edge part 52 and extends upward over the peripheral wall 33. In a part of the overlapping part of the extended wall part 53 and the peripheral wall 33, an entrance recess 12 is formed for a cat to come in and out.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
