PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disinfectant containing ethanol and acid having effects on inactivation and disappearance not only to bacteria, but also to virus, especially non envelope virus having no envelop such as norovirus, poliovirus and adenovirus, and having good use feeling such as dissolving a thickener uniformly without white turbidness deposition when adding the thickener and further not generating twist which is a pasty peeling article capable of being generated when a disinfectant or cosmetics containing the thickener is rubbed into hands.SOLUTION: There is provided a viscous disinfectant containing ethanol, acid and a thickener compound represented by the formula (1) with percentage content of the thickener compound of 0.1 to 20 wt.%.
