The present invention relates to a method of producing an antimicrobial composition for disinfecting water, characterized by the steps of removing seed coat and wings from Moringa oleifera seeds grinding the Moringa oleifera seeds into powder removing oil from the Moringa oleifera seed powder, thereby forming a Moringa oleifera cake residue wherein the Moringa oleifera seed powder is mixed with hexane to extract oil from the Moringa oleifera seed powder mixing the Moringa oleifera cake residue with salt solution to form a mixture wherein the Moringa oleifera cake residue is in a range of 120 mg/L to 130 mg/L wherein the mixing time is in a range of 60 to 65 minutes and the mixing rate is in a range of 100 rpm to 130 rpm centrifuging, filtering and freeze drying the collected filtrate to produce the antimicrobial composition.
