A method or apparatus for preventing accidental injury to animals which are treated on a movable animal treatment platform apparatus (1) having animal stalls (12) arranged about a platform (14) periphery, the platform apparatus further being provided with an entrance arrangement (2) and an exit arrangement (3) and a platform control system (27), the method or apparatus being established for registering the presence of an identified animal at a given stall on said platform and further registering the passage of each animal at an exit check point (6) located at a platform exit arrangement, wherein further rotational movement of said platform is prevented if, at the expiry of an exit time period for a relevant animal, the said animal has not been identified at said exit check point.
