A detent mechanism (18) for controlling translation between two components (2,7)comprises a resilient beam (2.1) on one component (2, 7) and a rhomboid rampmember (7.1) on the other component (7). The resilient beam (2.1) has a firstbeamhead and is structured to interact in a ramped engagement with respectivelyone of tworamps (7.2, 7.3) so that application of a translative force under certainconditions allowsthe first beam head (2.2) to travel along one transversal side of the rhomboidramp, theresilient beam (2.1) being allowed to relax when the first beam head (2.2) hasreachedthe other one of the ramps (7.3, 7.2) and application of another translativeforce underother conditions allows the first beam head (2.2) to travel along the othertransversalside of the rhomboid ramp member (7.1) on continued relative translation ofthecomponents (2, 7).
