The invention relates to a method for administration of at least one pharmaceutical agent to a patient, prescribed for administration of said agent or agents, comprising: (a) the application of at least one transdermal therapeutic system containing a first pharmaceutical agent for the transdermal administration of said agent during a prescribed period and (b) the application of at least one wafer at the beginning or during the transdermal administration, whereby the wafer contains the same agent or a second or further agents suitable for the same indication as the first agent.
