To provide a hair treatment method which provides a beautiful and impactful special finish, and to provide a hair dyeing method where a combination of oxidation dyes and specific direct dyes is used so as to provide a novel hair dyeing effect while taking advantage of the difference in permeability of both dyes to the hair.SOLUTION: There is provided a hair treatment method where a hair is divided into an A layer (one color section from the surface of the hair to a depth X%) and a B layer (a section where the depth from the surface of the hair is more than X% and a color different from the A layer including the center is continuous) along an axis of the major axis passing through the center of a hair cross section with a border at the depth X% from the surface to the center of the hair within a range of 5 to 80%. One or more of ΔE, Δh, ΔCbetween the color of A layer and the color of B layer is 3 or more.
