The grid includes a plate spaced above the bottom floor of the pot. The plate includes apertures configured to allow roots to pass through the plate. Slats formed on the underside of the plate define a plurality of compartments configured to prevent the roots from spiraling. The bottom end of each of the slats is spaced above the floor of the pot.
