The variable angle locking hole allows the bone anchor to be driven into the underlying bone while the bone anchor with the threaded head is positioned at a predetermined angle relative to the hole's hole center axis. The predetermined angle in this case is within an angle range in which the head is configured to threadably engage with at least one thread of the bone plate.
