A wheelchair lift (1) for mounting to a bottom side of a vehicle comprises a platform assembly (100) being configured to support a wheelchair, at least a first and a second lifting arm (10, 20) to lift the platform assembly (100), a force-transmitting element (300) rotationally coupled to the at least one first and second lifting arm (10, 20), and a power unit (200) to provide a tensile force to move the platform assembly (100) from one of the stowed and ground position to the entry level position. The force-transmitting element (300) is configured to transmit the tensile force provided by the power unit (200) to the at least one first and second lifting arm (10, 20) to move the platform assembly (100) from one of the stowed and ground position to the entry level position.
