The present invention provides an apparatus for the removal of medication units from a blister pack with at least one column of blisters protruding from the upper side and a rupturable covering sheet material on the underside. The apparatus comprises a platform comprising surfaces to support the underside of said blister pack on either side of said column of blisters, and a gap for medication units to be ejected through and an ejection member configured to act on the upper side of the blister pack, to eject at least one unit of medication out of a blister and through the gap. In a preferred form, the ejection member at least partially protrudes into the gap, below the level of the surface of the platform during operation of ejecting a medication unit.
