PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sustained release composition including a polymer and a process for production the same.
SOLUTION: The sustained release composition includes a polymer, a biologically active agent and a release rate determining agent dispersed in the sustained release composition to control the release rate of the biologically active agent. The process includes a provision of an oily phase including the biologically active agent, the polymer and the release rate determining agent, provision of an aqueous phase including a surfactant and mixing the oily phase with the aqueous phase to form the sustained release composition having a release controlling effect.
