The present invention relates generally to the field of molecular biology and concerns a method for enhancing various economically important yield-related traits in plants. More specifically, the present invention concerns a method for enhancing yield-related traits in plants by modulating expression in a plant of a nucleic acid encoding a HAB1 (Hypersensitive to ABA1) polypeptide or a KELP polypeptide. The present invention also concerns plants having modulated expression of a nucleic acid encoding a HAB1 polypeptide or a KELP polypeptide, which have enhanced yield-related traits relative to control plants. The invention also provides hitherto unknown HAB1-encoding nucleic acids, and constructs comprising HAB1 or KELP-encoding nucleic acids, useful in performing the methods of the invention.De manière générale, cette invention concerne le domaine de la biologie moléculaire et une méthode permettant d'améliorer divers aspects liés au rendement, économiquement importants, chez des plantes. Plus spécifiquement, cette invention concerne une méthode permettant d'améliorer des aspects liés au rendement chez des plantes par modulation de l'expression chez lesdites plantes d'un acide nucléique codant pour un polypeptide HAB (hypersensible à ABA1) ou un polypeptide KELP.
