PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an operation to set an area of interest to a subject.SOLUTION: A display measurement part 22 performs a measurement routine including setting of an area of interest, and elasticity measurement. The measurement routine includes display processing for displaying an examination image based on tomographic image data created by a tomographic image creation part 20 together with a still tomographic image, area-of-interest setting processing for setting an area of interest to a subject 14 by the designation of an area on the examination image, and measurement processing for measuring elasticity characteristics in the area of interest to which vibration is given by an ultrasonic wave transmitted/received by a transmission/reception part 16. An image processing part 30 causes a still image based on the examination image in the measurement routine performed previously to be a still tomographic image in the measurement routine performed afterwards.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
