PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type work machine enabling to set target rotation speed of an engine to a plurality of stages and easily select target rotation speed of the plurality of set stages.SOLUTION: A walking type lawnmower 10 has an engine 14 mounted on a housing 11, has a right and a left handlebar 31, 32 extended rearward from the housing 11 with a predetermined interval, and has rear end parts 31a, 32a of each handlebar connected by a gate shape grip part 33.
