To provide pharmaceuticals and administration method for the treatment prevention of chronification of pain.SOLUTION: Provided is tapentadol for use in (i) treatment of pain in a subject suffering from pain chronification； (ii) treatment of pain chronification in a subject suffering from pain chronification； (iii) prevention of pain chronification； (iv) the simultaneous treatment of pain and of pain chronification in a subject suffering from pain chronification； or (v) the simultaneous prevention of pain and of pain chronification.
