PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel immunogenic compositions for prevention and treatment of meningococcal disease.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to Neisseria species open reading frame (ORF2086) proteins being crossreactive immunogenic proteins which can be isolated from neisserial strains or prepared recombinantly, immunogenic portions thereof, biological equivalents thereof, antibodies that immunospecifically bind to the foregoing substances, and nucleic acid sequences encoding each of the foregoing substances.
