Some species of abalone are difficult to keep alive in traditional tanks, this system has overcome those issues with high water flow, high oxygen levels, regulated temperature control and clean water (extra large sump to water ratio).

As these custom built tanks are designed to be located in small spaces due to the constraints of being located in the retail sector or restaurants where shopfront space is very limited. The tanks are constructed out of fibreglass and the water depth in the tanks is 110mm. Both tanks have their own pump (6000L/H) connected to 25mm PVC pipe to a spray head located at one end of the tank. The spray head has outlets both under and above the water level to allow high water flow through the water column and the above water spray increases the oxygen levels within the tank.
