Methods, systems and related apparatus are provided for controlling an electronic device to operate an external sensor connectable to an audio interface of the electronic device by applying a first harmonic driving signal to a first contact and a second harmonic driving signal to a second contact of the audio interface for driving the external sensor, receiving a response signal at a third contact of the audio interface, adjusting at least one of the first and second harmonic driving signals, determining one or more physiological parameters based on characteristics of the first and second harmonic driving signals and the response signal, and outputting the determined one or more physiological parameters.La présente invention concerne des procédés, des systèmes et des appareils associés destinés à assurer la commande d'un dispositif électronique pour faire fonctionner un capteur externe pouvant être raccordé à une interface audio du dispositif électronique par application d'un premier signal d'entraînement harmonique à un premier contact et d'un second signal d'entraînement harmonique à un second contact de l'interface audio pour entraîner le capteur externe, par réception d'un signal de réponse au niveau d'un troisième contact de l'interface audio, par ajustement d'au moins l'un des premier et second signaux d'entraînement harmoniques, par détermination d'au moins un paramètre physiologique sur la base de caractéristiques des premier et second signaux d'entraînement harmoniques et de la réponse au signal, et par production du ou des paramètres physiologiques déterminés.
