The present invention is directed to orally administered compositions of topically acting corticosteroids for the treatment of inflammation of the gastrointestinal tracts such as eosinophilic esophagitis. The present invention also provides a method for treating conditions associated with inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract in an individual. The method comprises administering to an individual in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition of the present invention as orally disintegrating tablets comprising a topically active corticosteroid adsorbed onto a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier such as silicified microcrystalline cellulose.L'invention concerne des compositions administrées par voie orale de corticostéroïdes à action topique utilisées pour le traitement de l'inflammation du tractus gastro-intestinal, par exemple l'œsophagite à éosinophiles. L'invention concerne également une méthode permettant de traiter des affections associées à l'inflammation du tractus gastro-intestinal chez un sujet. La méthode consiste à administrer, à un sujet en ayant besoin, la composition pharmaceutique selon l'invention sous forme de comprimés à délitement oral comprenant un corticostéroïde à action topique adsorbé sur un véhicule pharmaceutiquement acceptable comme la cellulose microcristalline silicifiée.
