A method and apparatus for local high resolution of a 3D skeletal system image are disclosed. The method for local high resolution of a 3D skeletal system image includes the steps of: determining a volume of interest (VOI) to have high-resolution in the 3D skeletal system image obtained by photographing a subject localizing the VOI based on a finite element method (FEM) and reconstructing a skeletal system image of high resolution in the localized VOI by setting a multi-resolution limit condition based on a difference in bone density between the 3D skeletal system image and the localized VOI.
