The invention relates to medicine, particularly ophthalmology, and can be used for the treatment of senile cataract.According to the invention, the method for treating senile cataract consists in that it is carried out the local and regional anesthesia, is fixed the superior rectus muscle, is incised the conjunctiva at the limb level, is incised the cornea, is marked the anterior capsule, is performed a triangular incision of the anterior capsule, which corresponds to 18°° hours with the side length of 3 mm, then using a syringe with a needle curved at an angle of 135° in the anterior capsule, circularly, on a diameter of 5…6 mm, are performed microperforations with a distance of 2…3 mm between them, then it is excised the said circular portion of a diameter of 5…6 mm and the nucleus of lens, is performed the lavage of lens masses, are carried out two iridectomies which correspond to 11°° and 13°° hours, is implanted an artificial lens to the posterior chamber, then it is sutured the cornea, is reduced the anterior chamber by introducing sterile saline, is sutured the conjunctiva, in the subconjunctival space is administered an antibiotic and a corticosteroid agent and is released the superior rectus muscle.Invenţia se referă la medicină, în special la oftalmologie şi poate fi aplicată pentru tratamentul cataractei senile.Conform invenţiei, metoda de tratament al cataractei senile constă în aceea că se efectuează anestezia locală şi regională, se fixează muşchiul rect superior, se incizează conjunctiva la nivelul limbului, se incizează corneea, se marchează capsula anterioară, se efectuează o incizie triunghiulară a capsulei anterioare la nivelul orei 18°° cu lungimea laturilor de 3 mm, apoi cu ajutorul unei seringi cu acul îndoit sub un unghi de 135° în capsula anterioară, circular, pe un diametru de 5…6 mm, se efectuează microperforaţii cu o distanţă de 2…3 mm între ele, după care se excizează porţiunea circulară menţionată cu diametrul de 5…6 mm şi nucleul crista
