PURPOSE: A novel kojic acid derivative with whitening activity is provided to strongly inhibit tyrosinase activity and to ensure high solubility in solvent. CONSTITUTION: A kojic acid derivative compound of chemical formula 1 has skin whitening activity. A method for preparing the kojic acid derivative comprises: a step of reacting cyclo alkyl thiol metal salt such as alkyl thiol metal salt, cyclo pentyl, cyclo hexyl, or adamantly under the presence of organic base at 10-80°；C to prepare a compound of chemical formula II.
