The application relates to a control apparatus (7) for an implantable heart pump (5). The proposed control apparatus (7) comprises an implantable first control unit which is electrically connected to the heart pump (5) in a main operating state for controlling operating parameters of the heart pump (5). The control apparatus (7) also comprises an interface (18) which is electrically connected to the first control unit and is intended to wirelessly transcutaneously transmit data and/or to wirelessly transcutaneously transmit energy between the first control unit and a further control unit (3) provided for extracorporeal use. The control apparatus (7) also comprises an implantable second control unit which is electrically connected to the heart pump (5) in an auxiliary operating state for controlling operating parameters of the heart pump (5), and an implantable switch (16, 17) which is electrically connected to the first control unit and the second control unit. The switch (16, 17) is set up to change over between the main operating state and the auxiliary operating state.
