PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device having a high light emitting luminosity regarding the light emitting device having an exciting light source, a wavelength conversion member and an optical fiber.
SOLUTION: The light emitting device has a light emitting element 11 for emitting an exciting light 1, the optical fiber 20 and the wavelength conversion member 30 which absorbs the exciting light 1 emitted from the light emitting element 10 and emits an illumination light 2 in a prescribed wavelength region after converting the wavelength. The wavelength conversion member 30 includes a fluorescent substance 31. In the wavelength conversion member 30, a luminosity maintenance rate at 250°C is more than 50% of the luminosity maintenance rate at a room temperature, or the luminosity maintenance rate at 300°C is more than 30% of the luminosity maintenance rate at room temperature.
