Hort., or a compound represented by chemical formula 1 or salt thereof.본 발명은 퇴행성 신경계 뇌 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 약학 조성물에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 꽈리 추출물 또는 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 히비스카틴 또는 그 염을 포함함으로써, 치매의 주요 원인으로 알려진 아밀로이드 베타() 펩타이드 생성에 관여하는 베타 세크레타제(β-secretase)의 활성 저해 효과, 아밀로이드 베타 유발 독성 억제 효과, 산화적 손상에 대한 신경 세포 손상 억제 효과 등의 효과가 있어, 우수한 약효를 나타내는 퇴행성 신경계 뇌 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 약학 조성물에 관한 것이다.
