PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus capable of detecting a position of a specific area formed on a subject by measured auxiliary light by appropriately controlling a quantity of light of the measured auxiliary light, an operation method for the same, and a program for the endoscope apparatus.SOLUTION: A position of a specific area formed by measured auxiliary light on a subject is identified on the basis of a first captured image obtained by capturing a subject illuminated by illumination light and the measured auxiliary light.
