PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition containing Chinese herbal extracts provided with or improved in the action of improving enteral environment (particularly, balance of bacterial flora in the intestine).
SOLUTION: The combination of Chinese herbal extracts and potassium hydrogen carbonate and/or potassium carbonate promotes proliferation of useful bacteria such as bacillus subtilis (natto) or resident lactic acid bacteria and improves the balance of bacterial flora in the intestines.
