PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope in which the heat radiation of a light source stored in the inside of an operation portion is efficiently performed enough, thereby stable illumination performance is maintained even an endoscope having a dividable operation portions.SOLUTION: In the endoscope 3 in which an operation portion 11 can be freely divided into an operation portion unit 31 to which the proximal end side of an insertion part 10 is connected and that has a light source section 36 of illumination light irradiated from the distal end of the insertion part 10 through a light guide 22, and an operation portion grip 32 the operation portion unit 31 and the operation portion grip 32 are connected, two or more contact points of an electrical contact 121 of an operation portion unit side connection substrate 81 of an operation portion unit side connection 91 of the operation portion unit 31 side and a contact pin 120 of an operation portion grip side connection board 82 of an operation portion grip side connection section 92 of the operation portion grip 32 side are formed closely like a matrix to be connected.
