PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light projection system capable of projecting near-infrared light onto a users face uniformly, and to provide a face photographing system for photographing the users face onto which the near-infrared light is projected.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 10 for displaying a meter image is provided in front of a vehicle drivers face. The liquid crystal display device 10 includes a panel-shaped display section 11, a light source unit 12 for making light incident on the display section 11, and a drawing control section 13 for drawing a meter image in accordance with light to be emitted from the display section 11 by controlling directions of liquid crystal of the display section 11. The light source unit 12 is configured to emit near-infrared light. The drawing control section 13 makes near-infrared light emit from the display section 11 while drawing an image on the display section 11.
