The present invention relates to an information input device using an electromyogram (EMG) signal, which can receive information from a user using the EMG signal which records, in the form of a graph, a change in current generated according to the movement of muscles of arm induced by a hand gesture of the user in connection with the motion of the human body, and to a method thereof. According to the present invention, the information input device using an EMG signal includes an EMG signal detecting unit which comprises one or more EMG sensors to be attached to an arm of a user, and detects one or more EMG signals for recording a change in current generated by the movement of the arm induced by a hand gesture of the user； and a control unit which determines input information based on a correlation value according to the correlation between the one or more EMG signals, and which controls the determined input information to be transmitted to an information device, stored inside, or displayed on a screen.본 발명은 인체의 동작과 관련하여 사용자의 손 동작에 따른 팔 근육의 움직임에 따라 발생하는 전류의 변화를 그래프로 기록하는 근전도(EMG) 신호를 이용해, 사용자로부터 정보를 입력받을 수 있도록 하는 근전도 신호를 이용한 정보 입력 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 근전도 신호를 이용한 정보 입력 장치는, 사용자의 팔에 부착하기 위한 하나 이상의 EMG 센서를 구비하고, 하나 이상의 EMG 센서로부터 사용자의 손 동작에 따른 팔 움직임에 의해 발생하는 전류의 변화를 기록하기 위한 근전도(EMG) 신호를 검출하는 근전도 신호 검출부； 및 상기 하나 이상의 근전도 신호들 간의 상관 관계에 따른 상관도 값에 따라 입력 정보를 판단하고, 판단한 입력 정보를 정보기기로 전송하거나, 내부에 저장하거나, 화면 상에 표시하도록 제어하는 제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
