An intraocular lens insertion tool (10) with a tool body (12) for accommodating an intraocular lens (14) and adapted to insert into an eye the intraocular lens (14) through displacement of the lens (14) in an axial forward direction by a plunging member (16), and to push out the lens (14) through an insertion tube section (76) disposed at an axial distal end of the tool body (12). The insertion tube section (76) has an inclined orifice (94) that opens on diagonal to the center axis of the insertion tube section (76). The plunger member (16) has a sliding part (106) that during displacement thereof in a direction of plunging into the tool body (12) will slide against the tool body (12). A resistance graduating mechanism (35, 108) is provided for gradually increasing operation resistance of the plunger member (16) by gradually increasing contact force on the sliding part (106) as the lens (14) gradually emerges from the inclined orifice (94) through plunging of the plunger member (16) into the tool body (12).
