Methods and compositions for reducing the frequency of urination are disclosed. One method involves administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising an analgesic agent formulated in an extended release formulation. Another method involves administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a plurality of active ingredients formulated for extended release. Yet another method involves administering an effective amount of a diuretic to a subject in need thereof, followed by another administration of a pharmaceutical composition comprising an analgesic formulated for extended release.
