PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor that contains a binder resin having excellent abrasion resistance to a practical load, excellent electric characteristics while maintaining high mechanical strength, and has high stability of a photosensitive layer formation coating liquid.SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a photosensitive layer on a conductive support; and the photosensitive layer contains a polyester resin having a repeating structure of divalent phenol residue and a divalent carboxylic acid residue, and contains a compound represented by the following formula (1) in the divalent phenol residue in an amount of 10 to 60 mole% with respect to the total amount of a divalent phenol component.
