The present invention provides a novel therapy concept based on a removal of circulation BSP (bone sialoprotein) from the plasma of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), preferably by plasmapheresis or an administration of antibodies against BSP in plasma. The present invention further provides a BSP absorber material for plasmapheresis and a pharmaceutical composition namely in form of anti-BSP antibodies for direct administration which are biocompatible in humans. The beneficial effects of this therapy have been proven by the observed correspondence between levels of circulating free BSP levels and mortality of CKD patients.La présente invention concerne un nouveau concept de thérapie basé sur le retrait de la sialoprotéine osseuse (BSP) en circulation dans le plasma de patients atteints d'une maladie rénale chronique, de préférence par plasmaphérèse ou administration d'anticorps contre la sialoprotéine osseuse dans le plasma. La présente invention concerne en outre un matériau absorbeur de BSP pour plasmaphorèse et une composition pharmaceutique sous la forme d'anticorps anti-BSP biocompatibles chez l'homme pour une administration directe. Les effets bénéfiques de ce traitement ont été prouvés par la correspondance observée entre les niveaux de BSP libres en circulation et la mortalité chez des patients atteints de maladie rénale chronique.
