[PROBLEMS] To provide a hydrophilic composition containing hinokitiol which sustains a sufficient viscosity without resorting to use ethyl alcohol and also sustains a good keeping stability of hinokitiol regardless of the kind of the synthetic resin employed in coating the inner face of a metal container to be packed with the composition. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A hydrophilic composition containing hinokitiol which contains a dihydric alcohol such as ethylene glycol, propylene glycol or butylene glycol, is free from ethyl alcohol, and is filled in a metal container having a synthetic resin-coated and printed inner face. It is preferable that the composition has a viscosity of 10000 cp or more when measured with a B-type viscometer.
