An apparatus 1 for providing agitation inside a patients body cavity C, said apparatus 1 comprising a gas source, means 3 for delivering gas from the gas source into a patients body cavity C and means 5 for recovering gas from the patients body cavity C, such that substantially all the fluid and/or content present in the body cavity C is agitated. The apparatus may further include a fluid delivery system (Figure 2) for delivering temperature controlled fluid. The apparatus is of particular used in peritoneal chemo-hyperthermia treatment whereby the apparatus agitates to enable homogeneity of the fluid.
