PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope permitting enhancement of the chemical resistance and repairability of a bending part, allowing a shell to be fixed at a desired position by a simple work, and allowing the shell to be replaced.

SOLUTION: The insertion part of the endoscope includes the shell 64 to cover the outside of the bending part, a distal end hard part 36 and a joint pipe 82 disposed at an end of the shell 64, and fixing members 66a and 66b disposed in the shell 64 for fixing the shell 64 to the outer surface of the distal end hard part 36 and the joint pipe 82. The fixing members 66a and 66b can be thermally fused to the shell 64, and are formed of a material harder than the shell 64. The fixing members are fused to the outer surface of the shell 64 in such a state that the shell 64 is fixed to the distal end hard part 36 and the joint pipe 82.
