The system includes a means (104) for providing a stimulus to the driver, and means for determining a measure of the drivers reaction to the stimulus. Also included is an interface means (101) that controls the system, and at least one sensor (103) in the vehicle which provides data relating to the drivers control of the vehicle to the interface device (101). The interface means (101) utilises a processing means for interpreting the sensor data to provide a performance evaluation of the driver.
