PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear mechanism of a fishing reel improved in a rotation feeling by reducing vibration due to gear engagement transmitted to a handle arm.SOLUTION: A gear mechanism 6 of a fishing reel includes a drive gear 20, a handle part 7 and a vibration-reducing part 25. The drive gear 20 includes: a gear part 16 having a prescribed gear diameter and a drive gear shaft 15 rotating together with the gear part 16 and having a diameter smaller than the prescribed gear diameter. The handle part 7 rotates the drive gear shaft 15.
