The invention relates to a tubular dental reinforcement preform (11) formed by a cord (12) of braided fibres (8). The cord (12) is impregnated and filled with a polymerisable resin (13) and can be made to adopt the form of a ribbon by means of isostatic crushing, without breaking the cord-forming braided fibres (8). The polymerisable resin (13) can flow through the cord (12) in order to form two side parts (7). The invention also relates to a method for producing a dental retaining band (1) from such a tubular reinforcement preform (11).
