[Problem] To make the operation of unfolding side flaps easy and also make it less prone to contact tape tip parts of fastening tapes with the skin of a wearer. [Solution] The present invention is an absorbent article provided with: side flaps and fastening tapes each of which is provided at a flap tip part of each of the side flaps and can be unfolded in such a state that each of the fastening tapes extends outward beyond the corresponding flat tip part upon use. Each of the fastening tapes is folded in such a state that the bonding surface of the fastening tape is bonded to the skin contact side surface of the corresponding side flap. The side flap is temporarily fastened in such a state that the side flap is folded along both a first fold line part located on the flat tip part side and a second fold line part located on the side flap base end part side relative to the first fold line part. In the situation where the side flap is temporarily fastened the flap tip part is positioned outward beyond the first fold line part and the tape tip part of the fastening tape is positioned outward beyond the first fold line part.
